Library Collection

The Wilson library includes books, magazines, reference materials, audio books, eBooks, and databases.

In addition to our extensive collection of non-fiction titles, we’re proud of our current, relevant fiction collection. It’s filled with popular titles with something for everyone. We try to be responsive to your requests - we buy what YOU want to read. Please feel free to make suggestions! Among area school libraries, we currently maintain one of the largest collections of graphic novels -- we have well over 350 titles in this area!

The Wilson library also has a large eBook and audio book collection. These digital resources may be checked out 24/7 through your Destiny library account. To access the digital collection follow the "Digital eBooks" link on the library web site.

A NOTE ABOUT RESPONSIBLE READING

A middle school library serves students ranging in ages from eleven to fourteen. What is interesting and appropriate for an eleven-year-old may not be interesting and/or appropriate for a fourteen-year-old and vice versa. Some volumes in the library may contain material that may be objectionable to some readers. Should any reader find a title unsuitable, he/she should return it for an alternate selection.

Libraries are all about choice. Our goal is to encourage enjoyment in reading while respecting individual preferences.

Parents can help students enjoy the library. Ask students what they are reading and talk to them about their choice.

"A truly great library contains something in it to offend everyone.” Jo Godwin

Online Resources

We maintain a huge variety of online resources, including online magazines, newspapers, and encyclopedias. These resources can be accessed from both the library and from home. A list of available resources, including login and password information, is available in the library. Most of our online resources can be accessed from the library's web site by the following link to “Research.”

Library Policies

  • Students, parents and teachers are allowed to check out items from the Wilson library.

  • Items are checked out for three weeks and can be renewed for an additional three week time period.

  • Failure to return materials by the due date will result in the loss of library privileges until items are returned and fines cleared.

  • If library materials are lost or damaged, you will be expected to pay for replacement materials.
