Counseling

For Students

Shout-Out: Our Leadership Students did a great job creating this Bulletin Board for Our Campus!

All Feelings are ok bulletin board

Zen Den: Our CAP center offers a Zen Den as a quiet, calming space for students. It features soothing elements like soft lighting, comfortable seating, and calming tools to create a peaceful environment. It is a dedicated space to de-stress, and recharge emotionally, which can improve focus, reduce anxiety, and enhance overall mental well-being. It’s an essential resource for maintaining balance and building resiliency during stressful academic or personal situations.

Virtual Relaxation Room: (Link HereOur Leadworthy class built a virtual relaxation room for the Wilson campus.  The site is to help student refocus, find ways to reduce stress, find support in a crisis situation, and just relax.  What is great about this site is the fact students can access it anytime, day or night.

I'm having some problems and I need to talk to someone.  What should I do?

You can stop by the CAP center at any time to see your counselor or you can send them an email.  They will send a pass for you to come and see them as soon as they can.  You will be able to visit about whatever is bothering you and it will remain confidential.

What if I am at home and really need someone trusted to talk to?

On the back of your ID is a Crisis Text Line that is free and completely confidential.  There is a counselor available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Text HOME to 741741.  You can also call the Texas Youth Helpline at 1-800-989-6884.

I have a friend who is having problems and needs help.  What can I do to help them?

Encourage your friend to sign up to see his/her counselor.  If he or she doesn't do that, sign up to see your counselor.  Your visit will be kept confidential and your friend will not know that you talked to the counselor about him or her.
